When the Violet Peacock website went live a few weeks ago, Hal surprised me with a gift. He had been in touch with a Cocktail Mixologist and had asked him to design a cocktail just for Violet Peacock.

We haven’t tried it yet (waiting to get hold of some of the Crème de Violette), but we will let you guys know what it’s like. Feel free to send a picture if you make one!

The “Violet Peacock” Margarita

You will need: Shaker Tin and Shaker glass, Martini Strainer, jigger (for measuring pour amounts)

Ingredients: Herradura Silver Tequila,

Crème de Violette

Fresh Sweet n Sour (recipe below)

To make fresh sweet n sour: Add 3 parts fresh lime juice to 2 parts simple syrup (simple syrup recipe below) Stir well.

To make simple syrup: Heat 2 cups water in the microwave for a couple of minutes, slowly add 2 cups of sugar and stir until sugar is completely dissolved. This can take a few minutes.  To make more the ratio is 1 part water to 1 part sugar…..and done!

Recipe: The “Violet Peacock” Margarita

In a Shaker Glass Add:

1½ oz. Herradura Silver Tequila

¾ oz. Crème de Violet

1¾ oz. Fresh Sweet N Sour

Add Ice, cover and Shake vigorously and Strain into an ice filled rocks glass with a salted rim garnish with lime wedge.
